A Very Merry Veg-Mas!

Wishing all of you, our fantastic CSA members, a joyful Christmas! We feel incredibly fortunate to have fulfilled 31 weeks of organically grown, pesticide, and chemical-free produce this year. Your belief in us has kept us going, motivating us to aim even higher next year, offering more varieties and reaching more of you.

Here’s the sort-of bad news: the last scheduled box next week is going to be postponed to early next year. We really hope that this doesn’t put a spanner in your Christmas shopping plans, but the box you have received today should keep fresh for the next week and tide you over for no-boat week. We wanted to wait to deliver our final box when the cauliflowers finally come through amongst other varieties; next week would’ve been really thin on the ground, and we didn’t feel happy with ending on that note.

Festive Tips

We’re decked the boxes with herby delights this week! Elevate your fish dishes with the dill or sprinkle it on gravlax / smoked salmon on Christmas morning. The parsley is a beautiful addition to sauces, and the sage / bay are prefect for chucking in with any baking. This pickled fennel recipe will be a showstopper on your cheese board or alongside charcuterie. Or keep things simple and roast your fennel with your Christmas Day meat for an extra burst of flavour.

And for those yet to dabble in the cheesy leek, consider this your sign to give it a go! Slow- cook the leeks, adding a sharper cheese like Gruyère for extra flavour. Once you try it, there’s no turning back.

We’d love to hear how you use your box contents this week! From our family to yours, we wish you the merriest of Christmases. See you on the other side of 2023!
